Privacy Policy

How Veresco collects, uses, and protects your personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Last updated:

Veresco Pty Ltd (ABN 56 672 569 407) (“Veresco”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at veresco.io and provides governance, risk, and compliance services across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Veresco voluntarily complies with the Australian Privacy Principles regardless of whether the small business exemption under the Privacy Act applies.

This policy covers this website. Veresco also operates the Keel platform, which holds different information and is covered by its own policy at meetkeel.com/privacy. Personal information you give us in the course of a client engagement is handled under this policy and under the terms of that engagement; where the two differ, the engagement terms apply.

This website is intended for use by adults in a business context. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you give us directly. On this website, the only place you can give it to us is the enquiry form:

  • Contact details: your name and email address, and your company and phone number if you choose to provide them
  • Enquiry details: the service you have indicated an interest in, and whatever you write in the message field
  • Technical information: browser type, device type, IP address, and the pages you request, recorded automatically by our hosting provider in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse

If you contact us by email or by telephone instead, we collect whatever you choose to tell us in that correspondence.

We collect only the information we reasonably need in order to respond to you. We do not seek sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, or criminal history). Please keep the message field to the business matter you want to discuss, and do not enter sensitive personal information about identifiable individuals.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and provide the information, proposal, or introduction you have asked for
  • Contact you about the services you have expressed an interest in, where you have consented to us doing so
  • Keep a record of the enquiry and of our correspondence with you
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to train machine learning models. We do not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to privacy@veresco.io.

3. How We Store Your Information

Enquiries submitted through this website are captured and stored by Netlify Forms, which runs in the United States. We are notified by email when an enquiry arrives, and our subsequent correspondence with you is held in our own business email and records systems.

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you enter into the form is encrypted in transit, and stored submissions are encrypted at rest by our providers. Access to the submission store is restricted to authorised personnel.

4. Third-Party Services

Sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate this website:

Where data is processed outside Australia, we review the data-handling terms of each provider to confirm they handle personal information consistently with the APPs.

Our fonts are served from our own domain rather than fetched from a font provider, and we load no advertising, tag-management, or social-media scripts. Apart from Google Analytics, which runs only if you accept it, visiting this site discloses your visit to our hosting provider and to no one else.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used — which pages people read, how they arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. It sets cookies in your browser and sends that information to Google.

We ask before any of it happens. On your first visit you are shown a notice with Accept and Decline. Until you choose Accept, no Google script is loaded, no cookie is set, and nothing about your visit is sent to Google — not even a record that you were here. Declining is a single click and costs you nothing on this site.

Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie sent to us, and it stands for twelve months before we ask again. You can change it at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page.

Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately, on the page you are looking at — you do not have to reload. We switch Google’s own opt-out flag on, which stops its script sending anything further, and we delete the analytics cookies from your browser. Nothing more is collected unless you accept again. To remove data already collected before you withdrew, write to privacy@veresco.io.

We do not run advertising pixels, we have not enabled Google’s cross-device or advertising features, and we do not run targeted advertising. We use analytics to improve this website, not to build profiles of individuals.

6. Data Retention

We retain your enquiry and the correspondence that follows for as long as we need it to respond to you and to keep a record of our dealings — ordinarily seven years from our last contact with you, consistent with Australian business record-keeping practice. Submissions caught by the spam filter are deleted without being actioned.

Analytics data is held by Google, on Google’s systems, and expires on its own schedule. Records of individual page views are kept for 14 months from the day they are collected, then deleted automatically.

Records tied to the random identifier in your browser — not to your name — are also held for 14 months, but that period restarts every time you visit. If you come back regularly, they are kept for as long as you keep returning, and for 14 months after your last visit.

Aggregate reporting, which identifies nobody, is kept beyond both of those periods.

To have your personal information deleted, write to privacy@veresco.io. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, except where we are required to retain the information by law.

Where we identify an eligible data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and affected individuals in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIA of the Privacy Act 1988.

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations
  • Complain if you believe we have breached the APPs

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@veresco.io.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold about you, we will contact you directly.

9. Contact
